Hard Shell Bed Cover and Yakima Roof Rack

Hard Shell Bed Cover and Yakima Roof Rack
Been playing around with this idea for about 6 weeks and just made my first attempt of installation last night. All in all it didn't turn out too bad. The main issue with this is the Q Clips, they don't make a set that is designed to install like this. I took ones that I felt fit the profile the best and did a little tweaking.
Open to suggests if others have attempted something like this. I hope to put at least 4 bike racks across the back.

I fit 3 bikes comfortably over the bed of my truck. I could fit 4 by alternating them if needed. I have the pace-edwards jackrabbit tonneau cover with the explorer rails and a full thule track system. You could also do Yakima with this tonneau cover as well. The explorer rails provide you the slots where the feet mount.

I've had the bed rails installed for two years and love the extended space for camping staff (with the shell on the rails). My only dislike is the limited number of the bed cover options.

I know this is an old thread, but this is what I did.
Got some extruded aluminum rail with t-slot from www.8020.net to be a rail on either side of the bed. Mounted said aluminum rails with bull ring stake pocket rings. Added some rocky mounts hot rod bike mounts to the rails with tslot nuts also purchased from www.8020.net , and added some eylets oppisite each fork mount to secure the rear wheel. The mounts can slide up or down the rails to any position I need, i can add bikes by adding only the $40 rocky mount hotrod. When the bikes are removed I have full access to the bed without having to remove the rack system at all. I can remove the bed rails with 4 screws each and then still have stake pocket tie downs if needed. I have traveled many miles with this set up this summer and it fits the bill for my needs quite well.
