Your best time for maximum haggling will be year-end. They'll want the sale in Dec, to count for 2016.

Read the forum. Learn about invoice, holdback, SmartVincent report (showing all pricing and rebates), etc. See if you qualify for X-Plan, at least to understand it.

I bought on 12/23. Inventory gets thinned out, choices limited. I had 3 to pick from within a 3 hour drive that fit my needs. Mine was 150 miles away, local dealer traded for it.

dont be picky about trim level, color and options and you'll find a good deal. the more precise your wishes and the more the dealers knows that.... there goes your leverage....

I spent a lot of time haggling with my salesman. He kept running in another office giving my offer to the boss and coming out with a counter offer. We were 2K apart. I told him to let me talk to his boss, he said the boss didn't do that and the answer would be the same. Told him to go give him my offer again, i waited about a min after he walked through the door and i went in. I could here the boss saying no to my offer. I walked in and said now were gonna talk face to face.By the time i was done, I walked out with the deal i wanted.

March and August are traditionally the best times to buy new vehicles at the lowest prices. This is backed by data rather than hearsay if you look for it.

If you are lucky the end of month or end of quarter can be a good time as well. If the dealership gets the next level of factory kickbacks when they sell 200 vehicles for instance, you would do well if you are #195-200, they may even sell at a loss to get the last deal in on the last day. From 201 up to the next level the push is off, so it is a matter of luck, unless you know a salesperson who will share the data with you.

Try multiple dealers.

agreed, that is why you do it on the last day of the month... they have to hit unit numbers or they get let go...
