I’ve got a 2019 RCSB XL.

It has the little screen.

Before updating I had to use the cable to connect my phone to use the apps. (Not Bluetooth like for Spotify)

After I updated I noticed music just started playing. When it wasn’t on Sirius. Odd.

Then I figured out it was playing Pandora from my phone without Pandora even being open on my phone. What kind of black magic is this? It also with shuffle through iHeart Radio and Live X apps using the steering wheel control.

I’m sure to many this is old news. But I think it’s neat.

I used a USB to update my Sync 3 to version 3.4.22200 if anyone is interested.

 

I did mine yesterday as well, just sat in the driveway and connected to the house wi-fi. Didn’t take as long as I thought, went back outside after an hour or so and it was done. Haven’t driven anywhere yet so can’t really comment on the results!

 

Drove the truck today, background on screen is now blue! Siri is different, nav is different, it’s definitely an upgrade!

 

Yep. That’s the default color.

if you like black or if you want it to only go black at night you can change it.

Go to settings. Display. Mode.

Then you can choose Auto (where it switches between blue and black)

Day (blue all the time) or

Night (black all the time)

 

What are the main advantages to the new version?

 

The only thing I see so far is I don’t have to use a cable to plug my phone in to the usb port to use apps like iHeart Radio and Pandora.

Other than that it seem the same.
