With my old truck I was sent the title and as soon as I paid it off got my letter from Ford and then took it to the DMV and they sent me a new title with no lien on it.

Yea Florida does Electronic Titles so if you want a hard copy you just goto there web site and request it. I have done that several time. I also will have mine paid off in a couple months.

In NJ Ford sends the title with a signed stamp that says lien released. You get it in about a week.
I idid the same thing, financed for the $500 and paid it off the 1st month. Dealer told me at delivery I had to keep the loan open for 6 months. Hah. Bought a Mazda CX-5 last spring and did the same thing, that dealer told me 3 months. So don't listen to them and don't pay any interest at all, just pay it off right away. |
So, late yesterday i was telling a girl at the local bank i use about the title issue. She asked if she could look into it, so she called ford, and after a lot of time being transferred she talked to a rep that told her the person that told me i would not get a title was wrong and ford did not destroy titles and i would get mine. We will see in a few weeks. Also my dealer told me i had to make 4 payments to get the $500 rebate which is bs. Ford told me there was no penalty's for early payoff.
