Default Getting Used to the automatic transmission

This is my first truck I purchased as an automatic. All of my previous vehicles have been manual transmission and over ten years old. So this is a little different for me.

Does anyone elses truck feel like the downshift from 3rd to 1st is hard?

For example.. Coming to a slow from 25-35 mph, I am coming up to a yield, and slowing to a near stop, The dash still says 3rd gear, the lane opens up, and I give it gas. the truck realizes it cannot start that slow in third and immediately drops to 1st. I get a rather alarming clunk. Not sure if it is normal. If I come to a complete stop. there isn't an issue.

Am I the only one?

2000+ miles and everything has cleared up. No hiccups.
