Default Gauges fluttering

I got in my truck yesterday, started as normal and drive to get gas. When getting back in I turn the key and it makes a single odd ding noise that I haven't heard before and the top row of gauges spike to the left and start fluttering quickly.
i turned it off, tried again and did the same thing.
I proceeded to crank it, it lasted about 5 seconds and stopped, gauges returned to normal
Any idea what this is before I go have someone look at it?

New battery fixed this on mine - also if you have a USB converter for charging cell phones etc. plugged into the 12 volt outlet, make sure they are warm. Sometimes the circuitry in them goes bonker if in winter temperatures and will cause that fluttering as well.

I haven't been to get the battery tested yet but I'm glad to hear it's not just my truck. I've also noticed my auto stop/start hasn't been working which makes sense for a battery going dead.
Interesting about the USB charger though, cause I do have one plugged into the dash

The better brand names i.e. Aukey seem to work well under all conditions, the cheaper ones not so much.

Some people like him, some people hate him, but here's what Scotty Kilmer has to say:

I know this post is old, but this might help. My 2020 2.7 started doing the instrument flutter on startup around 100k miles. It happens randomly, but also becoming more frequent. When it happens, it also disables the drive mode options. I usually drive in sport mode unless I’m hauling a trailer so it gets pretty annoying. I’m pretty sure it’s not a battery issue, and I think I’ve tracked it down to a bad relay or wire harness between the ignition and in cab fuse panel.

If I use my phone with the Ford Pass app to start the truck, it works fine. The remote start option bypasses the ignition relay which further supports my thought that it’s a faulty relay on the inside panel.
