Fumoto oil drain valve
#31
Newer EB's have metal guides that control filter drip... though the drip hole.. do this after oil has drained that's the "neat" part of the operation. The plastic plug in the pan will shoot oil horizontally 18 to 20 inches whereas the older conventional drain plug only shot out sideways about a foot. A couple of things I've learned .
A) Don't take the oil fill cap off
B) Cold oil drain
C) short sleeve shirt
D) large piece of cardboard
I'd kill for the old style metal pan and hence the fumoto valve. Try it you'll like it.

Haha. Yeah the biggest waste of resources is using all the gas to drive those miles Definitely gonna go to a more fuel efficient rig in the next couple of years...

I was going to get one.. Till I read this.. http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/6-0...in-fumoto.html
The disadvantages definately out weigh the advantages of the Fumoto valve!
Removing the drain plug is a nit, compared to changing the oil filter.

If you keep reading that thread, there are some valid points they make. If someone has sludge and metal flakes at the bottom of their oil pan, they have bigger prOblems than the valve anyways. Just because new oil mixes with a little old oil, that isn’t an issue. I have a fumoto valve waiting to be installed. When I do my oil changes with the valve installed, I’m going to jack up the driver side to allow more oil to drain toward the valve.

Using an adjustable wrench to remove your drain plug is asking for problems.. lol
