Default Frozen Tailgate

Has anyone had this happen? I've been having issues with the Tailgate for a bit with giving it more force than necessary to close it properly even before it started getting in the negative temperatures. Loaded a few things up this afternoon before heading out and when I closed it up had to slam it shut a few times before it locked up and stayed up. After loading everything up again tonight from the Christmas with the family it finally seized up and would not shut luckily I keep some lengthy rope/tie down in the cab so I was able to tie it shut between my hitch and box rails. I do have a Truxedo tonneau on it but i know that's not the case as i tried to close even with it rolled up.

I'm more or less curious if someone had this happen and had a quick fix or not or if it's time for me to warranty a new tailgate.

I've seen it lots. Always had something to do with the tonneau cover.

Hmm, If that's the case i'll have to try moving the rails for the tonneau forward in the morning. Though if I recall right it might of done it before the cover. I may also try some lock deicer as well after I pick some up.
