Default Front Sway Bar

Hi-
Looking to upgrade the front sway bar. I have an XLT 2.7 4x4 with just the basic trailer hitch package. Pretty sure I just have the normal front sway bar. Will the heavy duty factory sway bar from the Max Tow Package install right in its place?

I installed a Hellwig Rear Sway bar....but the front Hellwig is spendy and ive heard people having issues like clunking noises with the front one.

Ordering a factory Max Tow sway bar is much cheaper....but just wondering if its plug and play before I pull the trigger.

Thanks-

Yes it’s a direct swap. One is hollow, the other is solid IIRC.
I have no noise from my Hellwig front bar...not sure why anyone would.

Your question was answered... but IMO you're wasting your money. You probably already have the same SB as the Hellwig. Either way I don't think it would make any difference for you.

But, like they say, it's your money.

Stock bars are 1.375”
Hellwig front bar is 1.5”
They’re not the same.

Clunking noises are usually a result of improperly torquing the installation hardware.

I agree but you don't know that he doesn't already have the upgraded bar.

OP: Do some measuring before ordering if you're set on one.

The 2 Ford bars are the same OD. He’ll have to track down which bar came with his particular truck.

Hellwig's bar is over $200 and the updated Ford bar is only around $50 provided I dont need to buy anything additional like brackets or end links. My factory bar has a engineering tag with the letters ending in "AB"....I think "CB" is the upgraded bar and the "AA" was the basic bar. I think I have the hollow bar though.

Thanks-

Call the dealer have them run your VIN. Mine has regular tow package and they state I have the same sway bar as the max tow,

I looked it up and it looks like I dont have it. I dont even have a normal tow package. Just the "trailer hitch" package as its called.

Does anybody have the part number for the heavy duty sway bar?

Thanks-
