Default Front ford badge

Can you remove it without taking the whole grill out? Maybe just the top cover?

Thanks in advance. Trying to avoid unnecessary work

The entire grill has to be removed, and the shutter assembly removed from the back of the grill to get to the 3 nuts that hold the badge from the back.

If you have an XL it can be removed with the grill in place.
