Default Front Diff/Transfer Case/Rear Diff Fill Procedures

Looking to drain/refill the front/rear diff and transfer case on my 2016 F-150 5.0/6spd 4x4.

I did the trans drain/filter/fill using the shop procedure PDF things that are frequently linked here by a couple super helpful members.

are there any special shop manual procedures for the diffs and transfer case? I know the front diff has no drain plug and you have to remove the cover (which has 100 other things involved so I was gonna suction out as much as I can for the front.

Is it just drain and fill to the bottom of the fill plugs with the appropriate fluid/oil?

Thanks

Ford Tech Makuloco did a video on his preferred method of the front differential. This is what I did.

Ford should have installed a drain plug on the front diff for easy service

I used a cheap harbor freight fluid transfer pump and pulled out right around 1.75 quarts which is what my service manual said should be in there. Mine is a 2013 so refer to your year's service manual for that amount. I did the same on my rear diff as well but next go around i'm removing the cover. The Front diff doesn't do anywhere close to the amount of work as the rear diff does on a four wheel drive vehicle. It only spins when the trucks in 4x4 so I don't see a need to remove the cover unless it's leaking.

Yes, front diff rear diff and transfer case fill procedure is up to the bottom of the fill plug.

For the rear diff I would recommend buying a LubeLocker gasket for the cover. Your 2016 may have RTV, and later trucks have a Ford gasket. The lubelocker is reusable for future changes AND you don't have to deal with RTV.
Or I suppose if you have a transfer pump then you could pump out the rear like the front, but I like to wipe out the bottom because there is usually fine metal paste left in there.

For the Transfer case, be sure to use the correct fluid. Mine has a sticker on there, as well as noted in the manual. It is not the same fluid as the 10sp trans but may be the same as the trans on your truck.

I like using some pipe dope (PTFE sealing compound) so no oil seeps out. Don't seal it by tightening.
I think the factory uses something similar if I remember right from the first time I removed them. Ford Tech Maculoco also recommends Permatex thread sealant (same thing).
