Hey everyone. Ive had an issue that I have just left and decided to actually see whats going on and try to sort it out. I have a 2018 lariat 502a and I had a crack and chipped front camera for the 360 cameras. I went to the dealership and gave them my vin and they gave me a camera. Its a different part number (Old PN JL3T-19H222-AB, New PN JL3Z-19G490-E) but when looking online it seems to be that its just a newer part number that replaces the old one.

Now for the issue... I pulled the bumper and got it all swapped out without issue but when I now switch to the 360 view the top/ front camera is black and if I click through the camera button it shows the front camera but the wide angle view is the same view as just the normal front view. In forscan the error code for the IPMB is B148E- front camera not configured.

Im assuming that it somehow just needs to be reconfigured but I cant for the life of me find any info for where or how. I assumed it would just be a nice straight swap and I'd love to have my camera actually working again.

 

The new part number is the service part number. The fourth letter "Z" tells you that. The other number with fourth letter "T" is the internal engineering number Ford uses for assembly line, inventory, etc.

The new camera needs to be initialized to the IPMB using the appropriate scan tool.

 

So would for scan not work for that? Dealership trip?

 

I believe FORScan will do it (I haven't done it myself) but the camera should also be re-aligned which requires the re-alignment mats. You might get away without re-aligning.

 

Did you get it resolved? I'm having issues with my front camera as well. Mine just shows black right now, but I have not tried to replace it yet.
