Is A Front Camera Alignment Needed After Windshield Replacement?
I just had my windshield replaced by Safelite. Safelite later sent me an email saying that I need to have my front camera alignment checked by the dealership due to the windshield replacement. I have a Lariat 502a with the automatic high beam headlights that uses the front facing camera, but I don't have the lane departure warning system that would also use the camera. Safelite's email is auto generated and sent to anyone who has the front facing camera under the erroneous assumption that the truck therefore must have the lane departure warning system. Do you folks think that I need to have the camera alignment checked.

Uh not exactly true. The camera in the grill is for the 360 degree camera system. The camera in the mirror housing is for the auto high beam and the lane keeping system if you have it. Probably wouldn't hurt to have it checked.
After I had the windshield replaced in my Platinum, the lane keeping system would push me from one side of the lane to the other. It seemed to return to normal after about 10 miles, and has been fine ever since, so it could be that it self-calibrates.
