FORScan - software to enable/disable features in your truck

Yes, my surface pro 4 has embedded bluetooth.
I tried an independent bluetooth dongle
from best buy this afternoon. The chip inside is broadcomm, my Surface internal radio is MarvelStar. Both produce the same result. Other OBD MX BT users have confirmed it is indeed the latest Windows 10 update that is causing problems. One person even went as far as swapping hard drives and doing a clean install of a few different builds of Windows to confirm.
I figure since ForScan 2.4.0 is nearing completion I might as well just take this as a sign and order a hardwired Ford compatible J2534-2 device of some sort.
Im not interested in an ELM327. The ForScan developer has a good writeup on his website on why those are bad.

I added the heated/cooled seat buttons to the home screen and tapping them does not switch to the climate screen. I don't have a heated steering wheel though.

I've never had any issues with the ELM327. I think the FORscan developer may have been referring to the cloned units from overseas that are junk and corrupt.

I have had the added seat controls since it was discovered.. Every now and then when using them it does turn on the climate screen.. I always thought it was because I didn't push the button directly but maybe two at once.. I normally do the wheel first ( if it's going to switch this is when it does it) than drivers seat and then wife's seat if she is going with me. This might be happening after using remote start, come to think of I don't remember this happening must during the summer when just turning on my seat cooler.
I'll start trying to pay attention of when it happens..

Why did it not stay set. I looked at the F150 sheet and did not find the setting to change the Blue Tooth name to F150 from Sync. I have three Fords so I figured I could change it with Forscan. I looked at the Explorer sheet and it listed the APIM
7D0 04 01 xxxx xxxx XXxx it said change XX to 0E. So I did, it worked until I restarted the truck then it went back to the name Sync. What did I miss.
Alright I just went and checked the 0E bits are correct. On my phone is shows F150 on my wifes phone it shows as Sync. My phone iPhone 6s hers is an iPhone 8 both with the latest IOS. The Explorer shows correct on both phones. Hum

I'm using an old Vista laptop, no issue. But with their new permanent software soon to be for sale on the horizon, my days may be numbered!
