Default FORscan question

My truck has a keyed ignition system, and the fob has a button for remote start, but it doesn't work. Can I make a change in FORscan to allow the remote start?

"To check your key fob, look for the circular arrow button; to use it, press lock, then the remote start button twice, or use the FordPass app." Otherwise I couldn't tell you other than to look at the window sticker.to see if it is there.
You may need to the Perimeter Plus module. In addition to remote start it adds a security feature should the truck be impacted. It is all plug and play. I installed it on my truck a LOOOOng time ago it was probably the best upgrade I made.

Thanks! I pressed lock button first and then the button for remote start and it worked! It shuts off with a third press of the remote start button.

Your manual describes how to use the remote start. If you don't have the manual, you can get a pdf file of it for free at the Ford owner website. The system is designed so you can't inadvertently start an unattended and unlocked vehicle.

You can also start many Ford vehicles with remote start using the fob sequence Lock-Unlock-Lock pressed within 5 seconds. I think I learned that on a rental vehicle by accident. Later I discovered (to my surprise) that it also works on my truck with my remote-start-equipped fob.
