You can do it! Just do a back up or a written record of your factory settings, also don’t be alarmed when you reboot after the code change and the truck does some funky things, it’s normal. Have fun with it!

If you watch the video provided by the above posted link-- it shows what you need which is not much ,a plug in tool / gizmo & a lap top

I am just going to pass on it myself, as I am not up to speed with computers, I am an older person that never had any training with computers and all I know is just barley enough to get by. But If I was raised on the computer or had some training- I would go for it as I dont think it would bet all that difficult for folks who "know" computers-- although what was posted in post #4 would have me concerned- if he is not just trying to F- with people

Take a look at this page: https://forscan.org/download.html

You need:

1.) Laptop or compatible device;
2.) a license for the software. Unless you buy the lifetime license, you need to renew often;
3.) Next and most important, buy the recommended OBDII device on this page. Many have found themselves, who tried to save a buck, in trouble because the device they bought did not work correctly.

As others have stated, the first thing you should do is BACKUP all of your as built data. Additionally, the use of a battery tender is also recommended while you are doing this.
