FordPass and Sync 3
I downloaded FordPass to my Android the other day. When I go to My Vehicles and select my new F150, it says to pair the phone w/ Sync (done) and select the FordPass icon from the Apps in Sync. But, I don't have a FordPass icon in apps. Am I missing something? I tried the 'update apps' option but it tells me that there are no apps to update.
Thx.
Thx.
I did not have to plug my android cell into a usb to be able to use the Ford Pass/Owner app, the only reason I plug my cell in is to charge it when I need to. OP, try opening the app on your cell if you have not already while your sync 3 is on and bluetooth is connected, then close out the app on your cell, then try to search for new apps on your sync 3. Personally, I don't see a lot of use for the Pass/Owner app yet at all, maybe future upgrades to the app will be coming.
Good luck

Okay, it says it needs to be connected via BT, but I'll try again w/ the wired connection.
I did find in the Android Auto interface (with the light blue background), in the 'Mobile Apps' button, an option to update apps, and there's a message above the button saying apps need updating, but when I tap the button, the message 'Apps Updating' comes on the screen and just stays there (even after 15min or so). The 'i' (Info) button next to the update button says it should only take a minute or so.
I'll try again in a bit while connected.
I'm actually an Integration Engineer by trade (make computer systems work with one another). It bugs me when things don't communicate like they're supposed to. At this point, I'd be happy if it just updated my mileage on the myFord site...
Edit - I went back and tried it again... I can get the FordPass icon to show up in Apps in Sync if I turn off BT on the phone and turn it back on. When I press the FordPass icon, it just opens a blank screen with a menu button. The menu has one option - exit FordPass. If I go home and then back to apps, the FordPass icon is gone and I have to reset BT again to get it to re-appear. Can't seem to get the Sync App or the App on my phone to actually do anything at this point.

I'm having difficulty with it too, I think it's an issue with the App. For Apple products you do have to plug your phone into the USB for the App to show. Mine does the same thing, shows the app on SYNC, when I open it it's a blue FordPass screen with the Menu option on the top right which just allows you to exit. I'll try deleting the App again and trying over. I've had it work in the past but it never seems to update my vehicle info on the phone App, always showed the same fuel level.
Something is definitely wonky with it. BTW, somewhere along the lines I also got the Dominos app, but it does the same thing as FordPass - disappears until I re-start BT, then has no options other than being able to Exit.
