I have a 2017 F150 and the last two days, I have remote started my truck with the FordPass app, and the truck has started fine (I could hear the exhaust) but the app just keeps circling until it eventually says vehicle has failed to start. Anyone have a similar issue?

 

Try deleting the app and then downloading it again. I was having similar issues with mine and this fixed it.

I find FordPass very glitchy. Probably going to add something aftermarket to my truck. I was fooled by my salesman saying "it has remote start through the app" but it's dodgy at best. Works like 80% of the time and that is not acceptable.

 

i've never had an issue with remote start through the app.

i also have remote start through my key, never had an issue with that either.

 

Problems here too.
I only use this seasonally, now its colder in the northeast been trying to use it the past 3 days, and wont start, problem connecting.
Still reads my mileage ok.....
Ford better fix their poop or I'm erasing this stupid thing off my phone.

Having the same issue. I’ve deleted the app. Deleted my pickup. Readded it. I restarted sync. I’ve done a force module reset and a battery ground disconnect without any success.

 

I had this problem for a while also. Discovered that my VPN was masking the truck's true location from the app and therefore remote start and most other functions wouldn't work correctly (if at all). I was using the VPN when connected to any wi-fi other than my own, so it always worked at home. Made the wi-fi/VPN adjustment and it's been fine since.

 

My uneducated thoughts is it’s on Fords end. Didn’t work in my parking lot at work. Didn’t work at home. That’s only the remote start function. Lock and unlock work fine.

 

Mine has been the same. Don't normally use it through the summer but now that the temps have dropped I'm using it again. It will start the truck but the app doesn't acknowledge it. I've reset the app and logged back in to no avail which always used to work. Likely an update coming that will fix it but we'll see
