Fordpass iOS bug
Dont know if anyone else has experienced this, but thought I would post to save some aggravation if possible. Environment : 2018 F150 XLT with current Sync, does not have Ford Connect. iPhone 8 Plus.
Sometime in January/Early February, Sync and Fordpass started acting up. Music would not play reliably on either bluetooth, or usb connected. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it would be SLOW to start playing. Also in that timeframe, I noticed that fordpass apps were not showing up in Sync. Recently, I noticed that even Fordpass would not show up in the app list.
I thought maybe it was just something out of whack with Fordpass, deleted the app, and reinstalled it. No fix. Replaced my USB cable (have seen issues with cables before). No change. I tried resetting Sync to factory settings, deleting the app, and setting it up as new. This also did not resolve. I finally drove to the dealer Saturday to see if I was missing anything. LITERALLY while I was parking the truck, I got a notification that an iOS update was available, checked the release notes and found an bug fix for connections for certain 3rd party devices. Applied the iOS update, and everything works correctly again.
My iPhone is now running 11.2.6
Hope this is helpful to others...
