Default Ford withholding 10 speed for testing

Article dated 12/6 Ford withholding 2017, 10 speed transmission for additional testing.

" Ford is apparently hanging on to its newest crop of pickups for last-minute testing, if company executive Joe Heinrichs is to be believed. The head of Ford’s American operations said the company would delay delivery of certain 2017 F-150 configurations (and all F-150 Raptor off-roaders) to perform final testing on those trucks’ 10-speed automatic transmissions. Gawd I hope the 10sp story ends well.....we'll see.
Obama took office in... 2009. Congress (wait, not Obama?) regulated new CAFE standards in 2007 (wait, you mean under President Bush?) that raised the standards by 9MPG through model year 2016 and changed the calculation.

The Obama administration implemented what Congress (again, under President Bush) put into law.

So yes, it is President Obama's fault.

I'd wait a year........ or three before buying one Let the bugs get worked out.

2017 all new 3.5 ecoboost and all new 10 speed trans are bound to have issues. Even if its just software upgrades each one is another trip to the dealer.
I prefer buying and not seeing the dealer again until its time to trade

I have high hopes for the 10 speed. GM's putting their version in the 640hp supercharged ZL1 Camaro and Ford in the 450hp Raptor. So should ( hopefully) be a strong tranny able to handle big power.
Once the bugs are worked out it should kick butt.

They've started shipping some. A dealership in VA. has a couple on their lot.
