11/2" FP lowering shackles rear, 5100 Bilsteins set at .71 front.
I used the shims. Not sure if I needed them, but they returned the pinion angle to stock, thought it to be a good thing since I was always already there. No vibes.
I looked hard and long at going with the Ford Performance lowering shackles as well as a few others in the aftermarket. I don't know what your intension is in lowering your truck, but mine was to level the truck out by removing the front to rear rake. I didn't really want to lift the front 2" so I thought well then, drop the rear.
I took a different route to drop the rear and get the job done. Plus it was free!! I removed the rear spacer block between the axle and spring pack. Not quite level, but darn near.
Of course this will only work on the 4x4 trucks since the 2wd trucks do not have this spacer installed.
Mine is a 2wd rcsb i noticed the kit for the 09-14 has the shims and the kit for the 15-19 does not Where did you get your shims? Are they Ford also?
Depends on which lowering kit you get. The "full" kit includes lowering shackles, removes the spacers, and has shims. This kit also changes the front springs. Shims included are tapered shims for the rear axle and a spacer for the rear transmission mount.
I don't know about when you buy shackles only. As an FYI: You can call Ford Performance Technical Support and they can give you the best advice. I'm not a fan of making this type of decision base on what guys online say about whether they had vibration. We're talking about sensitivity to vibration, so what others experience isn't really relevant.
Your welcome. I had a detailed conversation with Ford Performance before buying my kit. After the discussion I wouldn't consider any kit without shims. They do extensive testing before putting their name on a product. They don't really make any of it, just put on their label, but that label sure helps with future warranty.
