Default Ford Navigation Stinks.....

Just saying compared to iPhone or Android maps the Ford voice program really really stinks and is a waste of money....wish the truck had not come with it....

Took us 10 miles in traffic to get it to respond...you can't give it a destination as a mall like Siri & go....have mutiple sub commands to figure out where your going....then you need to read the screen and scroll down a menu to pick your destination....

It's far from quick, easy and user friendly.....

Welcome to Microsoft software.

In all seriousness Sync 3 due out next year will be a large improvement. Too bad there won't be an upgrade option.

I agree 1000%. I don't plan to order until Sync 3 is available.

If you don't care about voice, does the navigation itself work just as well as a typical garmin unit?

Yep, can be real frustrating. Point of Interest search works if you are stopped. I call that BS when you're operating it via voice, but its the way its implemented. This isn't a Microsoft issue, its Ford's implementation. But none-the-less, its not a great system particularly if you compare it to the ease with which navigation works on any phone. I think would be great if in the future there would be better integration with one's phone so that you could use your phone as an alternative but get the sound and video through the truck. That would be the "cats ***" of solutions. Whether we'd ever see such standards through BT I don't keep close enough tabs on those standars to know...??

Absolutely! I have zero issues entering a destination by address or POI.

Take a look at Sync 3... Ditched Microsoft's Windows Embedded Automotive for Blackberry's QNX OS and it looks 10 million times better. Pinch to zoom on maps, Siri + Android voice navigation integration...

It does. The company that provides the maps for Ford is actually the same one providing maps for Garmin. Standalone units work much better though when you are looking for a POI.

Sync 3 looks really nice. I wanted to wait to order a 2016 F-150, but unfortunately I was unable to do so. I wish Ford would give us the option for a purchasable upgrade to Sync 3 for our 2015 models.

If you know where you are going ahead of time, I recommend using the Sync app to find your destination and send it to your truck. It works well doing it that way. Voice commands can be frustrating at times with so many steps to find the place you're going to.
