Default Flowmaster American Thunder

So, just installed the system and decided to go straight out of the rear instead of the sides just due to looks. System sounds nice, it is pretty aggressive as they said it would be, but I like it. Downside is the cheap clamps they use. I snapped one tightening it and the pipes still move slightly. I anticipated having it welded anyway, but didn't think it would be as necessary. Just a heads up to those looking to get the system, either get better clamps or expect to have it welded just to avoid any problems.

I had an Americian Thunder cat back on a 1992 Mustang LX 5.0. I had to tack weld the tailpipes so they wouldn't move. My biggest pet peeve, is crooked tailpipes on something with dual exhaust.

I have the remote start, so I kept starting it up to check for leaks... Other than that it's just installing and checking the alignment of each piece to make sure it looks right from the outside. It's pretty straight forward by the instructions, though.

You'll need a 10MM, 13MM (Can't remember if I actually used that one, but pretty sure I did), 14MM, and 15MM socket as well as a 10MM and 15 MM wrench. A case of beer will help with everything but the alignment, lol.

Any time! Just don't tighten anything down, except for the piece that replaces the resonator, until you've made sure everything is aligned where you want it.

Definitely remove the spare tire to give you wiggle room AND most importantly, install the extra hanger that comes with the kit. They should put that as step 1!

With the shield around the spare, I figured it would be useless to remove the tire. Came off fairly easy and the hanger was confusing the hell out of me at first. I kinda refused to look at the directions at first... But what can I say? Installation instructions are just recommendations, right? Lol
