2013 SCREW w/ 3.5EB. Pulling a 23" MicroLite Travel Trailer. Trip last fall from NC to Grand Canyon and back. Drove almost 6000 miles towing almost all of the time. Mostly Interstate driving although a fair amount of 2 lane roads. Averaged 11.1 mpg. Trailer is probably around 4500# to 4800# loaded. Seemed like most of the trip west through Texas and New Mexico facing STIFF headwinds. Always use tow/haul mode, but turn OFF Sway Control - as I have not had a problem with sway with this unit. I have noticed that with tow/haul mode it usually stays in 5th gear, however if I put it on cruise control it will go right into 6th gear and doesn't seem to be having any difficulty.

Any reason you're declining to use sway control? I've never had reason to turn it off myself.

Well for me, I have noticed even when driving without towing if I get in a strong crosswind I can feel the truck trying to "adjust" for sway. It is most noticeable (again for me) at slower speeds. My understanding is that the system try to compensate for sway by braking individual wheels and I swear I can feel that happening. That being said I have not had any real problem with "sway" when towing (even though I have it turned off). I have travelled across Texas and Oklahoma facing some rather brisk head and crosswinds and being passed by semi's etc. and have not ever felt out of control. I have had that sensation of being "sucked into" a semi as it is passing - which is always a cheek pinching adventure :-)

Also, on a side note, you only have the 6 speed transmission? A lot of the gas mileage numbers your seeing are from the 3.5 with the 10 speed. My Rv dry weight is 6900, so fully loaded 7000-7500 depending how loaded and where I am going. I get about 15 mpg on flat steady roads. Around 15 overall for long trips at highway miles.
