Default First service visit

Took my 2016 2.7 in for it's first service yesterday with 4,445 miles and a year and a week and a day on it. Got right in and got The Works and was out in about an hour. The interesting part came this morning. The service adviser called and wanted me to stop back in. When they audited my service record they discovered that after rotating my tires that only one tech had signed off on checking the lug nut torque which takes two techs signing off on it. Said it didn't mean it wasn't done, just that it only had one sign-off and it needs to be checked.

You could do it if you have a torque wrench and didn't want to bring it back in...150 ft/lbs as it should be the same as my 2015...better safe than sorry!

Can you recommend a good torque wrench? I want to get one to keep in my truck.

Sounds like they get high marks for caring.. on the flip side of that, I feel like most of the people I've ever interfaced with in the automotive service industry barely comprehend english and/or lack social skills. I think you're winning.

Can't go wrong with something from Sears. If you want a GOOD one, like, better than craftsman, expect to pay north of $200.

WAIT A MINUTE. Hold up the conversation a bit.. Problem here.
You have had this truck over a year and only have 4400 miles on it.
What you don't like it?
Serve some time in the pokey?
LOL
I have had my truck 4 months and over 9000 miles. JEEZ

Right?! I've had my truck 7 months and have over 15K miles on it!

Back to the OP....I'd say you have a good dealer. Most dealers wouldn't even consider having 2 techs sign off on lugnuts...or even call you to ask you to let them double check it. I wish all dealers were that detail oriented.

When I got mine rotated at Express Tire, one technician did the torquing and would call out the reading from the torque wrench, while another followed behind him with a clipboard and wrote the number down...
On the flip of that, after I had a wheel and tire place put my new rims and tires on, my wife called me three days later and said the truck sounds "clunky, and feels weird". Inspection found 2 lug nuts missing altogether and all 4 wheels finger tight.
