Default First post from a FNG

First post from a first time owner of a 2017 F150 XLT 3.5 EB 4X4 group 300A. I'm enjoying the truck so far. Literally upgraded from a 2001 2.5L 2WD Ranger. Amazing what 1 more liter, 2 turbos, and 15 years of engineering can do!

Now my first order of business is to get a proper tow package on the rig. I currently have the 4 pin and a bumper ball. Hopefully I'm posting this in the correct spot, the towing/hauling section seemed more trouble shooting towing issues than installing towing parts. From what I've found online this is what I've ordered thus far:

7 pin wire harness- # HL3Z-13A576-D
Tow connector plug- # FU5Z-14489-A
OEM TBC- # JL3Z-2C006-AA

I know I need the TBC activated. And I'm getting a hitch from etrailer but haven't decided which yet.

I was checking the fuses and here is where my first question: it appears I have only 6 out of 7 fuses I see in the manual.

Kick panel #4: trailer brake control CHECK
Engine bay #34: Trailer tow park lamps CHECK
Engine bay #35: Trailer tow stop-turn relay fuse CHECK
Engine bay #36: Trailer tow lamps module MISSING
Engine bay #49: Trailer brake control module CHECK
Engine bay #79: Trailer tow parking lamp relay CHECK
Engine bay #87: Trailer tow backup lamps CHECK

So is #36 for running lights? Does the lamps module control all the trailer lights? Not only is the fuse missing but there are no contacts for me to put one in that slot. I haven't cut the bumper yet to install the 7 pin and start testing the contacts but I'm worried I'm missing something crucial that the truck isn't wired for at all.

Also looking online I've come across this part https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...ol-gl3z19h332b But I can't find any other information on it. Can anyone tell me where it's located so I can see if I have one already?

Thanks in advance

Congrats. I just bought a ‘20 Lariat with the 502a package on 9/11/21. I know what you mean… I came from a 2003 (WJ) Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.

this truck has so much to offer and all I keep doing is reading and learning!

You are missing the auxiliary automatic transmission oil cooler and front stabilizer bar. The trailer brake controller is installed on the panel to the right of the steering wheel, but I am not certain about the location of the module.

I have a tranny cooler. Maybe for max tow they added a second cooler? I’m not looking for max tow, just need more capability than the 4 pin bumper ball combo I currently have.

I have the TBC installed already. There’s more than enough info online about that. But nada regarding the module in the tasca parts link.

thanks anyway
