I found a small scratch on the passenger side the other day, since it got it's first scratch I decided to do my first damage to it. I am glad the scratch is on the passenger side. I had a huge scratch on the driver side of my '11 I had to look at for over 2 years.

It's at the front of the driver's side rear door. Must have done it getting in.

I dont think I could ever drive the truck again... better trade it in. I mean, it's horrible, right? the scratch is at least, and I mean at least, 1/2" or less, no?

I know how it feels though, and it sucks... I put my brand new car into a light pole a week after getting it. Bumper corner was all scratched up (but popped back in place), body shop wanted $900 so it stayed as is for the 5 yrs I had it! Always hurt a little to look at it...

Exactly. It's less than a half inch. Maybe 3/8ths. And I know it's a truck, and that I plan to keep it a long time. This is just the first of many, I'm sure. I just hate that it happened, and that it's in a spot where I'll see it every time I get in or out.

I may take it (eventually) to a body shop for repair. It's the Ruby Red with tinted clearcoat, so I wonder if there's special treatment required above and beyond a normal scratch fix.

With a scratch that big you might as well paint the entire truck StevieP65 =) The first scratch warrants that at this time.
