Default Fender flares or mud flaps?

Just wondering if you guys have any experience with either. Right now I have a 2015 xlt with a 6 inch fabtech lift and 35" toyo mts. The tires sick out past the factory fenders by about an inch or inch and a half, and being a dark truck, covers the sides in dirt, mud, and road grime. With winter coming, I know it will only get worse. So I'm trying to decide between fender flares and mud flaps. Well both net the same results or will the fenders do a better job or visa versa. Another consideration is my truck is gem green and most fenders I have seen that color is not a pre painted option. So how hard would it be to get them paint matched? Thanks for any insight you guys can offer!

From previous experience flares including factory bolt ons marr the paint in the area trapping debris and water causing rust. Obviously rust isn't an issue now with aluminum but they can still bugger that new paint job in about a years time. Fender flares do work. Would I use them? Not unless I lay down some 3m this go around. With the right kind of mud flaps a truck can look good and function depending on your lift.

Flares will not keep your step from getting covered with mud and ice. Also mud gets into the inside of the front gap at the front door. My experience from last winter. I have installed Husky mud flaps in hopes this does not happen this winter. You also don't have to worry about matching colors on mud flaps. As for dirt on the side, dark trucks are probably going to look dirty all winter except for the day you wash it.

Those look really clean. Did you install them or the dealer?

I installed them in the driveway. Fronts took 5 minutes total, rear take about 5 minutes each

Did you just order them from your dealer or did you get them online somewhere? They look really good.
