Can a failing APIM cause remote start to not respond? No engine codes present and just the blinking red light for feed back on the remote. Hooked up forscan and no dtc codes in the modules either

I'm not thinking that would be the problem, a check engine light would, I'd disconnect my battery for a couple of minutes, hook her back up and see if that clears the issue.

 

I don't know if it can or not, but when my APIM failed my remote start still worked fine.

 

Engine/Transmission DTC's and maybe security sensors will fail a remote start. Odd that there are no DTC's. Getting any messages when turning the key to on?

 

I fixed it with a disconnect neg terminal for a a few mins.. Still have a failing APIM lol. but atleast I can use forscan to reprogram the module when I get around to replacing it. Android Auto fixes the laggy issue and the no gps. that makes it an acceptable work around.

 

Ok fixed the remote start now big questions.

I have NAV I need a new APIM. I understand the APIM can be from alot of different donor Fords.
Question is. What do I need to look for so everything stays working as original. I can program the replacement with forscan I am told.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
