Default Factory Subwoofer Install

I have seen a lot of audio posts for the 2015's, but not an answer to this question: If I ordered the base audio package, can I go back and add the factory subwoofer? Has anyone even looked to see if the wiring harness is there (I assume not).

It wasn't included on the previous generation trucks, and I can't imagine why it would be included on the 2015's.

Was the wire on the 14 and prior trucks independent or was it part of a larger wiring harness when ordered? Does the wire connect on the back of the stereo? Would it be as simple as ordering

Would it come with the cable? It shows a small cable in the picture, but I cannot find a part# for a cable that would go from there to anything else.

Well I'll let you know soon enough! I bought the OEM Sony subwoofer on ebay for our trucks. I get it tomorrow or saturday according to the tracking information. I have a 302A XLT with the 8" MFT with no sub.

I'll post back what I find.

These are my goals / plans:

1) Measure the impedance of the driver (also determine if DVC or SVC)
2) Measure volume of box. I plan on using rice or water. Haven't decided yet.
3) Evaluate if the current driver is going to suffice my needs or not. If not, I'll be researching for a drop in replacement. I'll also play with some stuffing material to see it'll improve the OEM driver.
4) Find out wiring scheme behind the radio. I'm hoping that it's the same 24-pin connector at the C240a as far as speaker outputs go.
5) Determine a suitable switched 12V for the amp turn on. I'm hoping to get one that is apart of the delayed power.
6) Determine a good amp. I'm likely going with a 5 channel amp for all the drivers (minus the center channel - I'm leaving that alone). My current candidates are the JBL GTO-5ez, Alpine PDX-V9, or maybe even a JL HD500/9. Right now, I'm leaning towards the JBL just for cost reasons and it really seems like it'd be enough. It also has a high level input with remote sense in case I can't find a switched 12V.

For now, I'm going to leave the door drivers alone and upgrade later. If anyone has any insights or suggestions on my plans, let me know!
