Default Factory Spray in Bed Liner

I ordered the spray in bedliner and my dealer said it was done at the factory. I have looked at a lot of pictures of the trucks that have been built with the help of this forum on links and all I have seen is painted beds and no liners. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

My dealer said to get the liner done after it comes in. Hinted at it being a better product than what they do at the factory.

Now you tell me. Dealer probably makes more money at the dealer level having it done.

I was torn on ordering mine with or without the spray in liner but figured that since its applied at the factory, there was less chance for something to go wrong by taking it to a 3rd party. Plus more convenient (no separate trip). And for $405 invoice price, seemed like it was a bit cheaper than what people are paying for something like Line-X.

I have the factory one on my '05 Frontier and even after almost 10 years it is holding up great. Figured Ford's will be at least that good.

I have a vendor with the factory spray in. It looks as good, if not better, than the Ultimate Liner I had sprayed in my old Superduty years ago.

My dealer offered spray liner (by local vendor) for $495 and two day turnaround. Local Line-X was $350 and same day. This is the 3rd time I've used Line-X, it's good stuff!

I have the factory liner and it is awesome. My truck was built at the KC plant in May of 12 and at that time it was shipped off site and done by someone. I read somewhere that they are now doing them on site. It is very durable and worth it to me. I'll be ordering it again next year when I order my new truck

Factory spray-in is great. I have no issues. It's tough, high quality, and the texture is not too rough. I'm very happy with it and would do the same thing again.

When I was looking at the Ram 1500 a couple of years ago it was obvious that their factory spray liner was inferior to a decent aftermarket LineX application as it was very thin - perhaps half the thickness and nearly the same cost. LineX even owned Chrysler's factory spray company at the time though they didn't use the same LineX material.

So after that I've been a bit reluctant to go with a factory spray but I can see that with the new truck bed there's bound to be the potential for aftermarket applicators to mess something up. So if the factory spray is a good thickness and from a quality company (who makes it?), I'll add it to my factory order. Price is $550 Cdn. MSRP ($473 wholesale) which would make it a bit cheaper than typical aftermarket.
