Default Factory rear stereo harness?

Hey guys,

I was recently browsing the forums looking for a place to tap a remote wire for an amp. Most commonly people used delayed fused from the passenger kick panel, but I came across this file after a little while.

Can anyone confirm that this harness is actually there? I find it hard to believe that so many people would connect to the kick panel fuses if this harness was right there.

Thanks,

Scott

I'll take a peek when I get home at lunch to see if it looks like its in there. I'll also check to see if its switched power. If it is that makes my life so much easier

Take a look at this thread... https://www.f150forum.com/f118/factory-sub-348088/

Probably has all the info you're looking for... not all trim levels have this harness based on feedback from others. You can also do a search on "WPT1212" which may produce more threads. If you do have the harness, you'll need FORSCAN to enable it - details in the thread.

That connector is only there if your truck has the Sony sound system. Non-Sony trucks won't have it.

I have it and I don't have the Sony sound system... from what I recall, some owners of XL trim levels reported not having it.

I think we are talking about different connectors. The C3020 connector is for the Subwoofer w/Sony Sound. I'll double check the pin outs, but I believe it only has speaker level +/- signals and does not have power, ground or remote turn on. It is not the same connector that uses the WPT-1212 pigtail for adding a subwoofer to a Non-Sony truck.

there is no pigtail needed. It's plug and play then activate with IDS
