Cant really say, as only 1 person posted has done the conversion. From oem halogen to led in a lariat. Obviously more will have a XLT, as 502a and above Lariats have the oem leds.

So far we have 3 Lariats, and 5 XLTs listed.

2 Lariats are having Issues, 1 isnt. 4 XLTs have Issues, 1 doesnt.

Doesnt appear to be XLT Only Isuues.

If I did something like this I would want to know it will work. All of these 'issues' are enough to make me hold out for a more solid solution.

I hear that! I bought in July and couldn't get an answer that the 1st gen issues were gone.. since no one answered I figured all was good...peeps usually sound off more when they don't work

I think the word "had" issues not "have" issues and now resolved and others are "still" having issues are more of a better word of using.

I feel that this is worth adding to the thread. Especially for those looking through it and deciding if this retrofit is worth it. If you are having issues, (it seems quite a few are), many may not be aware that this is causing a fault code to show up on their BCM. (Body Control Module - the module that handles headlights and such.) There's no check engine light or anything. It's not a powertrain related fault. But it is in the BCM memory. Every time my headlight (low beam) would go out, a fault code was created in the BCM. I forget the exact codes, but could get them if needed. I also had two faults for high beams as well, but they still seemed to work. While this isn't a big deal now, it could be later. While trying to come up with a fix for my problem, I stumbled across a section in the service manual regarding BCM outputs. The BCM is designed to shut off a transistor output in response to a short or ground. But, the BCM outputs are only designed to handle a finite number of faults. After so many events, the BCM will lock out the output. The only solution is to replace the BCM. Now I'm not sure about parking and turn signals, but I would think it would be no different. Just something to throw out there for those who just keep trying to deal with these issues.
