FYI, I have the 4.2 screen, until sunday, but my truck is a 2016 SCab XL base model. Thanks!
are you trying to go with an aftermarket setup or use the steering controls with your factory 4.2" screen? if the later i would say that if you swap in the steering wheel and it doesn't work then there are probably some programming changes in the SCCM

Default Cruise Control Add on Update

Hi, I talked with the same Ford dealership that said they had done one, a Cruise Control add on, before on a 2015+ XL model. Now they say they cannot do one since there is no upgrade package available from the parts department. I would be disappointed if they can't do an upgrade but I just wish the Ford dealerships would get their head out of their a** and know definitively which options they can add on for which models. The lack of upgrade option knowledge and customer disservice at Ford dealerdhips is amazing.

In response to your question, lucas8888, I am only looking for an OEM setup with the OEM steering wheel controls. As mentioned in my earlier post, I removed the 4.2" screen for a double din Pioneer stereo install. Even with swapping the steering wheel there is no definitive answer if programming changes will enable the cruise control feature.

In the next week, I will be having a backup camera added and the tech will be checking the column harness to see if the wiring for steering wheel controls could be added, even if the BCM is not reprogrammed. I have a PAC steering wheel control interface from upgrading the stereo to an after market Pioneer.

if I remember correctly looking at the wiring diagrams that the streering controls go to the SCCM module then the SCCM broadcast the message on the CAN bus so not sure what wires your tech will find. That is why I said just to swap in a higher module wheel and see if you can get it to work with programming changes. I'm pretty sure I have seen where cruise control has been added in a '15+ before.

Just an update. I have an appointment next Tuesday with a new car audio shop. I have talked with the tech and while he works on other items he will check the steering column for existing steering wheel controls wiring and will check to see if all is connected on my truck. Thanks to ray318, I now have a steering wheel with controls. The tech feels confident that even in the worst case of additional column wiring to bypass the BCM, I should be able to have OEM controls for my after market stereo.

Did anyone ever get the cruise to work on a 2015+ XL that did not originally come equipped with it?
