i know this may sound strange but i sure wish the side F150 badges on the fenders were gone. i like smooth interrupted sheet metal- no decals, no emblems. i mean anyone with a lick of sense knows a Ford, and a F150 from a hundred yards away without seeing a badge. and the script with the letters hollowed out are a real bitch to wash and wax around. i know: whine, whine, whine.
You can get that... pull them off and find a competent body shop to fill the holes and paint the panels. I'd recommend someone who is very sure of themselves and has quite a bit of experience, or you'll have obvious color mismatches.
I would like having mine shaved as well. But as a compromise I wouldn't mind if I could find a vendor that sold some matte black emblems to replace them. I tried the overlays and it didn't turn out and I personally think they are stupid.
I wanted something different. I had the badges off for nearly 2 months, the weather did not cooperate after I finished them up.
Anyway, consider a paint to match option.
I am still ill on the fence with my 2018. Do I just go matte black, or do I match the Lead Foot?
retouched photo showing what this easily recognized truck would look like without the badges. anyone think this is Nissan titan/Toyota tundra/gmc or chevy without the emblems? no, i didn't think so. i think it would be a major improvement and sure would be easier to maintain the cosmetics.
sorry the hood wasn't latched in this photo.

.I'm right there with ya on stickers and badges, anything that doesn't leave a hole is gone, except for the blue ovals, those are next to the Holy Grail. I've got a buddy that has one of two excellent body shops in my area. He told me right up front on my '12, that really, I didn't want to know the cost. I had him do some custom badging for me instead, similar to the appearance package, or whatever it was called on the 12th gen.
Knowing this, on my '17, by the second day I had it, all stickers and badging were gone, except for the fenders. I wound up spraying them, after removal, with Rustoleum Peelcoat, in graphite, almost matches my running boards, close enough. Nicer to use, and looks better than any PlastiDip I've used.
I think if you were to have yours PTMed, with that white, they'd just about disappear, and look good, instead of contrasting with black. Just my opinion.
