I cut out my front stake pockets and installed my backrack, on the passenger side the rear of the rail plate sits flush with the plastic bed cap, however my driver side isn’t sitting as flush,

I’m wondering if this is normal due to the stupid design of the ridges on the plastic bed caps, attached a couple of photos,

Anyone have one installed on a 2015+ F150?

Yea yours is different with the caps, I believe the ridges end around the cap area allowing your spacer plate to sit flat, need to see someone with a 5.5 bed.

This install has that same plate, but it comes with a foam pad you stick on the front of it to get the rack to tilt back from the cab.

Maybe I wasn’t suppose to install it on a 5.5 bed because of the ridges? The instructions didn’t say, I contacted backrack and I’m still waiting for a response.

This plate, see on the long beds with the caps no ridges are present and it sits flush, on my bed the ridges run right to the stake pocket.

I wonder if the solution is to place the spacer over the plastic rail, trace it out and cut it so it sits flush on the metal.

I wish the instructions mentioned that, I still would rather have it on there as it’s another point that prevents forward movement on the rack,

If that’s the case I’ll put some 3M foam tape underneath and cut the plastic so it sits flush on the metal bed rail.

Answer from Backrack, you do use the spacer plate on the short bed but you just need to cut out more plastic,
