Default Exhaust question

I just picked up a 2015 F150 super crew 5.0, and I've already got the mod bug! I want to liven up the exhaust note just a bit. I don't want to go with a complete catback, as I'm on a limited budget and trying to keep funds for the other mods I have planned. I'm thinking of simply swapping out the factory muffler. I'm leaning towards a Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flow, but I'm open to other suggestions. My question is in regards to the muffler itself.... I think based on some searches that the piping is 3". However, are the openings center / center or is there an offset? I looked at my factory muffler and it appears the pipes are just off center, but I can't tell for sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I absolutely love this truck! I ordered a 2.5" leveling kit from Rough Country, and already got a tune from 5 star. I'm hoping for some new wheels / tires next.

Holy smokes, you really do have the bug. I don't like piece mealing mods, so I put a complete exhaust system (Magnaflow) on mine. But I can understand wanting to minimize expenses on one mod to enable additional mods.

2 1/2" in 3" out OD on the tubing. I began that route ended up with GIBSON Stainless Duals catback $525 to the door, nice deep tone w/out the raspy tin can sound, bolt on in less than 2 hours.

The factory exhaust tubing in your 2015 F-150 5.0L is indeed a little off center. However, most 3” center in/center out Flowmaster mufflers should fit without issue. The inlet to the factory muffler is 2.75” and the tailpipe is 3”. For this reason, you will want to either buy an adapter at your local auto parts store or have your muffler shop make one for you.

Ultimately, the muffler you choose will depend on your personal sound preferences. The 50 Series Delta Flow is a good street muffler. If you'd like a slightly deeper tone, you could look at the Super 50. If you do a lot of towing, you may want to look in to the Flowmaster 70 Series. If you would like help selecting the right Flowmaster muffler for your truck, give us a call at 707-544-4761.

Thank you for the advice and suggestions. I think I'm going to give the 50 series a shot!
