Excited to be back
After 3 F150's, I had to go with something different for a little bit. This weekend I traded my '15 LTZ Silverado in for a '16 Lariat and I *love* it. I really missed the Ford product.
I didn't get the Tech package and sort of miss having the Chevy's front sensors to tell me how close I am in the garage. And while I didn't realize I used it at the time, I do miss the lane assist. If I had realized at the time how much I used those, I might have waited for a truck to arrive on the dealership with that option line but it wasn't available when I was ready to buy.
From just about every other angle, the Ford is certainly better in my books. I drove all 3 engines and while I was most surprised by the 2.7, I ended up with the 3.5L Ecoboost again. I had almost no desire to change anything on the Chevy - it was just a truck I drove and that was it. But the Ford oozes a certain ownership pride and I can't wait to make small adjustments to really own it. First on the list is a tonneau (Extang Encore) and hopefully I can find a consensus on which LEDs really are the best replacements to match the headlights. I'm also excited that CarPlay will be coming to my truck this year!
For those of you not completely excited about your truck, you should drive a competing truck for a couple years and then I bet you'd really appreciate your Ford again. Anyhow, missed the forum and the Ford.
