You see a lot of complaining about every little thing about Ford on this site but the ESP has very few complaints. People who have used it are usually very happy they had it.

Is Ford ESP denying any repairs or denying the long block as the repair?

See if you can get a copy of the three "C's", complaint, cause and correction. Sometimes tech's and service writers get lazy and don't tell a good story. Ford will deny it because of that.

If you have comprehensive insurance coverage on your truck (you probably do), just turn it in as a claim on your policy. You might encounter resistance at first from a less than knowledgeable agent or adjuster, and if so, demand to speak to a claim department manager.

Don't let an AGENT discourage you. Go to the insurance companies Claim Department. Read the terms and conditions of your policy. Unless it is a "named perils" policy, (probably comprehensive instead) it is considered an accidental loss, and not due and confined to mechanical breakdown or failure or a deliberate act and therefore not excluded. I'm a retired Regional Claim Manager for a large insurer, and have had to instruct many of our adjusters and supervisors after they simply, wrongfully denied claims offhand.

If you still meet resistance, demand the company give you a written explanation of what policy provisions they are basing their denial on. If necessary, you can demand arbitration of your claim. Arbitration is quick and easy and inexpensive and the by law, the procedure will be outlined on your policy.

I wouldn't turn it in on your insurance, because you'll still pay in the long run.

Assuming everything you've told us is true (no engine mods whatsoever, etc.) then I would recommend deleting this post. Document EVERY-DAMN-THING (this means you record every conversation and tell them you're doing so, document every interaction, take pictures of everything) and lawyer up.

Again, if everything you've told us is true, I suspect a strongly worded letter from the proper legal beagle will get this resolved.

Have you contacted Ford directly and opened a case with them?

You should not go with BBB. BBB will make you sign a waiver and agree to except the results of their arbitration. IOW you wave all legal rights so that WHEN they find against you, you cannot at that point go to court. BBB is a private company that works for ESP so they already have a conflict of interest. If you are ready to go the lawsuit route, that is the route I would follow.

When I purchased my 2017 used with 15k miles my dealer steered me away from fords esp. He told me they had been having issues with ford denying some expensive warranty repairs. They recommend a 3rd party that was supposedly a lot easier to deal with. I found it strange a dealer told me this. This case seems straight foreword, it’s unfortunate the battle is left to you.

funny you say this. I was just in the dealer getting warranty work done. There was a guy fighting with them. Tying to use his ESP. Service manager told him he was sold a third party ESP and it did not cover his issue. He was not at the dealership he bought it from. He was out of state working.
