If they have not yet discarded the old its an easy fix. Plug in and copy paste basically otherwise I don't know how to go about telling it all the required parameters to match how your vehicle was configured (options such as lane keep assist or pro trailer back up or parallel park assist etc change what the PSCM needs to communicate with so new steering racks come with a bare bones programming in them to allow them to function and communicate)
So I just changed my rack and pinion on mine. I rewrote the old PSCM codes onto the new one. Are there other codes I need to rewrite to get those errors to go away?

I tried everything and could never get the errors to erase. I ended up taking it to the dealer and they programmed it for me. I think it was around 100 dollars max for them to do it and clear all the errors

Did the dealer replace your rack and pinion because if they every Motorcraft part comes with a 2 year warranty. Take it to the dealer and let them fix for nothing put of your pocket

How difficult was it to replace your steering rack? What signs or symptoms did your truck have that lead you to the failure, same goes to you OP?!

I didn't have the dealer replace it. At the time, they told me they were so busy they couldn't get me in for about a month. I found a local shop that would do the work. They let me purchase the new rack myself from online which saved me some money, they put it, but they lacked the experience and know how to update it so the computer recognized everything.

How'd you determine it was going bad? How long had the problem been persisting?

i was driving and when I turned to the left, I had to fight the steering wheel back to center. It started happening on every turn and was becoming problematic

Is it possible to know if the rack and pinion has been replaced in the past on a particular vehicle? Will diagnostics show if it was previously reprogrammed? Looking at buying one and it's on the 2nd owner so he doesn't have full service records for it. Just wondering if it may fail on me soon.
