EPAS issue anyone?
Electronic Power Assist Steering
our truck only has 3200kms 2018 F150 2.7eb and dealer is replacing the steering rack already.
Pulled our camper last week and service AdvanceTrac light came on, sway was so bad and was so scary towing our rv, that’s probably why the light came on.
Drove it home while i disabled trailer sway control and the light disappeared, brought to the dealer and said the rack was malfunctioning.
Still loving the truck and 2.7eb no problem pulling 7k rv but the sway was so bad even worse than our 04 expedition
hopefully the epas was the problem with the sway
anyone else had their steering rack replaced too soon?

Not sure I would blame the EPAS for the sway, but the trailer hitch setup more than likely is way off, provided you did use WDH. If enough sway happens it can cause all sorts of issues to crop up with the traction control and sway control, so before you point the finger at the EPAS, I would make 100% sure the trailer setup is correct and eliminate the sway.
As far as issues with EPAS, mine is F'd up in that it will pull in either direction at any given time, on any given road, and while it didn't induce sway, it did cause handling issues on I-80 where the expansion joints were prominent, and hitting each one would cause a pull in one direction, then the other, and I found it was not at all related to the trailer, but to weight in the bed as I had loaded up 600 pounds at the tail, and 400 in front of the axle to mimic the load of a trailer and on a few roads by me it did the exact same thing.
So yes, there are known EPAS issues, but you do need to make sure it is not the trailer setup.

Truck and trailer was setup properly with anti sway bar. Even w/o trailer, i felt the steering wonders a lot and thought the alignment was off till i used it to tow our 30’ rv. Also even when sway was happening, the trailer sway control on the truck didn’t activate/lights up. Im just glad(i guess) that the code stored on the module and the tech found the rack was malfunctioning. Once we get the truck back, we will tow our rv and see if it still happening
I used to pull this rv with 04 expedition then 08 silverado 1500 then 99 7.3 SD and the best tow rig was 08 6.4 SD
