So got in my truck this morning to head out and a bunch of warnings pop up on the dash. AdvanceTrac needs service and Hill Assist unavailable. Start driving and notice what seems to be a cylinder misfiring and the CEL light comes on. Pull over in a parking lot, pop the hood and found 2 friends. Turn around to drive home and when I put it in reverse to back into the driveway, the rear parking sensors throw a warning and aren't working. It is currently at the dealer but they say it will be at least 2 weeks before then can get to it. I know wires can be fixed and spliced but I feel like replacing the harness would solve any future potential issues missed. How hard would it be to tackle a job like this? Also, any suggestions on squirrel deterrents?
There is another rodent wire harness issue posted recently. Rats with a long tail! Do you drive your truck daily? People actually feed these critters to keep them around. Good luck with the repair.

Reason: added info.
I use traps… when i catch them i take them at least three miles away to a local lake.. and btw on a good day i may catch 4 or 5 of them… they are nothing but destructive… you can work them done to few to none in a month if you work at it…

I typically drive it everyday. With the holidays it might have sat for a day. I drove it the night before so they either built the nest and chewed thru the wires in one night or the nest was built earlier and they finally chewed thru the wires. Turns out the damage wasn't as bad as expected. Dealer said the injector harness and one ABS sensor wire just needs to be replaced. Apparently the squirrel was still in there when they went to take a look. Hope they don't have a squirrel running around the shop!
