I couldn't agree more. I love these forums for the information and comraderie for our trucks, but the pissing contests that get started for no real reason are tiring.

Cycle For Fun and Health
Tuners don't cause the failures - could be either that right foot or could be a defective part from the factory build.
Either way, a tough to deal with situation.
Hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

The calibration tables on these new vehicles continue to get more and more sophisticated to the point that there are only a few companies left who truly understand how to properly manipulate them. Most of them use a back-door approach and turn off or modify the engine protection features in their quest for marketing a hp increase.
Powdered metal connecting rods don't like detonation; boosted applications are especially sensitive - too much boost or spark can result in hardware failure quite easily.
Choose your tuner wisely or risk suffering the consequences....

lol i actually saw that. i thought about tuning and decided against it. my question is how long did u run the tune? and why switch back to stock. as far as the blown motor, it can happen to any of us, stock or tuned. i would like to know what failed also.
now if i win the lottery i would do the livernois block and tune with the full race freakoboost kits

I actually was looking on fordparts website. The whole engine assembly is around $5500. I was thinking about ordering one and giving it to my shop and redo everything, upgrading the turbos , internals, the whole 9 yards.
