Hello, I have a 2020 F150 XLT with electric lock’s including tailgate. I’m getting ready to install the tailgate stabilizer kit OEM and the Ford Electronic Trailer Brake Controller. Going to use ForScan to enable the controller.
Is there an option to enable the Open on the tailgate? I have the keypad entry and tried the #5 after my unlock code but nothing. Thanks

 

No. The electronic lock and the electronic release are two different things. The tailgate won't have the actuators to release it. If it's possible to install those, you'd also need to swap the handle out. The trucks with this feature don't really have a handle, it's just a button.

 

Thanks for the info, asked my dealer and he didn’t know and was supposed to get back with me but didn’t. I suspected it needed an actuator but thought I’d ask. Thanks again!
