Electrical Gremlins?
I've had my 2016 SCREW for almost a year and a half. It has been problem free until recently. There have been a few electronic "glitches" that seem to be transient, but annoying when they occur. They seem to be related to the radio and display. First time it happened I tried to turn on the radio with the switch on the dash. No response. I tried several times with no joy. Finally, I used the voice command to tune it to a radio station and it came on. Worked fine after that. Several weeks ago It happened again. But this time I had no luck with voice commands either. Cycled the key on/off several times and no joy. Later that day it came on when I pushed the power button. Worked fine since then. Yesterday I went into reverse and the back up camera screen went to vertical bars only. No picture, just colorful stripes on the screen. I drove straight to Ford and tried to get a tech to look at it. All they would do for me was set an appointment for next week.
Of course the back up camera worked again after I turned power off/on so I have nothing for them to look at when I get it in there next week.
Do any of these symptoms ring a bell with anyone? I'd like to know if it is a known issue.
Thanks

I have a 2016 lariat and having similar issues. I have had the beach up camera do the exact same thing. My other issue I see a ton is my driver's seat never goes back to preset position. I have to always select 1 of the buttons to get it back to where I want it.
Similar issues with my 2015. My issues seemed to revolve around Sync. Almost immediately after taking delivery, the Sync would constantly enter system maintenance mode and reboot. That transitioned into no sound coming from the radio. When this happened, the voice button would not work. Also, the alarms and chimes would sound distorted. This became a sporadic issue. Often, a restart of the truck would fix the issue. The issue became more prevalent, occurring about 50% of the time. After many days at the service department and the dash being taken apart many more times than ever intended, the issue was fixed. My screen never acted up like you described though. Can’t tell you what the fix was. Many parts were replaced, including the entire head unit once. This was an issue that went on for nearly 3 years.
Well I dropped of the truck at my local AutoNation Ford, not the dealership where I purchased it. Gave them a detailed explanation of the symptoms, which were occurring infrequently. They kept it all day trying to duplicate what I was reporting but, of course, they did not see anything wrong with it. Service adviser called me and asked if they could keep it overnight. Said they called Ford to help troubleshoot. Ford told them to try software update. I said OK. I picked it up Friday morning. They updated Sync as it seems that was the common denominator. We will see if this fixes it.
On a side note, I am very pleased with the service department at this dealership. They spent a full day troubleshooting (off-and-on I'm sure) plus 4 hours running the update Thursday night to try and address my reported problems. I'll be even happier if I don't see these problems again.
