Interesting that not everyone seems to have that noise. I checked my 2017 3.5 several times and there is no noise after it's shut off? Now I'm wondering if that's a good or bad thing....

I'm about to run out of the factory warranty and would hate for this to be a serious problem!

Ford has an electric oil pump in the transmission to pump fluid around when the engine is off (during Auto Start/Stop operation) so that you can take off immediately (so that it stays in drive). That's what you are hearing.

It's a 2016, so no auto start/stop

Can you record yours? Does it sound like mine? The thing that worries me is sometimes it's louder than others and it changes pitch like something is failing 🤔

Is there a relay that i can check for the fuel pump? Maybe it's sticking or something when the pump is priming?

This has been a mystery to me!! my 2018 5.0 does this sometimes, exactly like your video. i have also noticed it with the key out. I left the truck and locked it, came back 30 minutes later and walked by the truck and heard it... sounds like an electrical component gone bad. Best I can figure is something in the starter or power steering area.... dealer is looking at it now while they are replacing my engine for oil consumption.... truck has 7k miles, burned through 5 qts of oil...no exaggeration!

Ford had it for 2 hours today....they claim it's a solenoid in the transmission but I have to bring it back in 2 weeks and drop it off for 2 days.
