Default Electric Running Board Problems

Have 2016 Lariat w/power running boards.
At random the Drivers side will only extend
about half way and then immediately retract.
Passenger side works just fine.
Anybody else experience this?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I had the same issue but it was staying in the down position and not going up. The motor is sensing some resistance somewhere. I would go in the menu and set them to stay open, you might have to help the driver side get down by pushing with your hand or foot. Pressure wash all the pivot points on the hinges and then spray them down with white lithium grease once dry. Then work them in and out to get the grease in there good.

It may just need to be cleaned and lubricated.

Check out a YouTube video by FordTechMakuloco. He posted a video within the last 2 or 3 months of how to clean and lube the pivot points.

They need to be cleaned and lubricated every so often. I use a penetrating oil to clean them, cycling the boards in and out until they work the way they should. Them I lubricate them per attached. If they get real bad I have removed them completely from the truck and worked the brackets on the bench.

I power washed them today and sprayed
them with lithium grease. It appears that
fixed them. Thanks for your help!!
