Default Ecoboost and Winch

Hello crew. Thinking about an off-road/Winch bumper for my 2016 Ecoboost Scab.

Found this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/33454123266...3ABFBMlLjepu9l

Does this bumper allow sufficient airflow for my intercooler?

The problem with many of these bumpers is they aren't properly engineered to handle loads (winch and recovery points). If you're doing small stuff like pulling a small tree out of the way, probably ok. As soon as you move up to bigger loads or dynamic loads you're putting yourself and others at risk of death or dismemberment.

This goes not only for the cheap ebay stuff but also the more expensive brands you'll find on AmericanTrucks website or other retailers. A lot of it is just crap.

Thanks for that. I just wanted my truck to look bad@$$, and I had an insurance claim for the bumper and was hoping there would be enough $$ approved to upgrade, but no dice. apparently the OEM bumper is not expensive, so no winch.
The good news is that he ordered me a premiered bumper and he said he'll paint it to match instead of painting it black.

Just to second this, most aftermarket bumpers attach to the OEM mount locations, which seem to be designed to deform in a collision and thus don't provide much fore/aft strength. Some also attach to the factory tow hook mount locations, which should provide better fore/aft strength as they are on the actual frame rails. I'm not enough of an engineer to calculate how much. And all of that is before any concerns about the way shackle mounts actually attach to a bumper.
