Now that is mainly showing weight distribution, as in, make sure if you are towing a boat that you account for the huge weight hanging off the far back in the form of the engine(s), but the basic physics should be considered no matter what.

Your rear not sagging is not evidence of having the correct vehicle. You need a vehicle with its own added weight, width, and so on, so if the trailer catches a hard side wind that it isn't driving the truck.

So yes, the truck has a weight rating of 11,000 - 13,000 lbs depending on year and configuration. Yes, it will pull it.

Heck, half this forum is spent digging on Ford for one thing or another.

And towing 9500+lbs (likely dry as mentioned and not taking into account other weight in the truck), or the stupid pictures go-on3 posts several times a day and has created at least a thread a month with the same stupid pictures doesn't change the fact that it isn't the right tool for consistent usage. If you were driving on your own private road without other traffic and families around, man, go nuts, freedom forever and all that. But it just takes the wrong situation, which is always right around the corner, and after about three flips doing 70 on the freeway you are going to think, "Man, I wonder if an F-250 is a better idea...".

Wow, Thanks for the the detailed opinions of how you feel about my stupid pictures that I post several times dailey or my monthly threads while your making post with videos that aren't even educational as you tried to imply. You want to talk about weight distribution and the effects of momentium ? Why didn't you bring up factors such as axle placement and how the trailers were designed . You didn't you bring up the advantages of having a certain diameter wheels matched for the trailer based on amount of axles it has ? You failed to bring up factors of diameter of axles and what they are rated for, that effects load capacity which reflects placement for boat and bunks for weight distribution ? You never even mentioned other factors such as the different types of trailer brakes, including the upgraded electric brakes with disc that I have ! Why didn't you bring up how the trailer was made from steel not aluminum and was built specifically for that boat... That's a factor because aluminum trailers that are very common on boat trailers will flex and dramatically effect defensive driving situations... They all play a huge factor to the vehicle that is towing it ! Maybe you should take that educational video to USPS, Fed-EX, and UPS if you have safety concerns with a lighter truck pulling heavier trailers... Explain to me how they use a small cab over truck , yet pull up to 3 trailers behind it !!!! They do that with use of great trailer brakes .... That's probable why our trucks are equipped with electric brake controllers and our trucks have electric sway control that's even adjustable by sensitivity.

You can make any trailer demonstration look catestrophic but if your going to compare that video to my stupid pictures, atleast make it fair. For instance, when I installed my weight distribution hitch, I made sure the trailer was level when setting the height of the ball. Your video had the trailer way off balance from the very start, then you want to remove weight ..... Didn't Ford remove weight on their latest and greatest Super Duty truck that's purpose built for towing ? Then you make a stupid statement of saying " Man, I wish I would of gotten a f250"... Don't you know that the really heavy Super Duty truck shares the f150 cab ,doors , and is literally only 550 lbs. Heavier than my similar configuration half ton ! Not to mention , the half tons from 12th generation and up have brakes that can be compared to previous model 3/4 ton trucks. Not counting the fact that my truck is not only heavily modded for performance, I also focused heavily on the chassis and suspension, and other supporting mods . Using helper Air bag kits as I'm on my 4th kit that I personally threw together. I do make threads but if you even had a clue of the limiting factors that some trucks have after modified for whatever reason you'd understand. I don't expect that you would understand as your on this post , putting effort to tear me down when you drive a 2.7 ecoboost with several thousand pounds less capacity.... Good thing it's equipped with e- lock, as seen in your signature.

And maybe I was able to help just one of the many who reached out to me after seeing my stupid pictures. To me, being told it's not possible, it's not available, won't work with my application, lowered trucks are useless, or other comments like. you'll have to make one if you want it.... only motivate ME to build a vehicle that's purpose built , not bought. I use this forum to get advise, to try to help those who need it, and to be proud to share my build and experiences I've had that won't be forgotten.... like the time I spent months making my grill with my buddy who recently DIED ! Too bad there's members on here like you that bring out the worst in me .... Your video , your comments, and your gestures were cute though.

Im not sure why he brought up the boat engine subject. A boat and its matching trailer should have the axles placed properly from the factory to balance out the fact that a boat is generally tail heavy.
Pretty sure if people bought boats hooked them up and it started wagging down the road, they would drive instantly back to the boat dealer.
He's most likely a hater cuz he paid too much for his truck that wasnt needed so he can feel macho. The simple minded get jealous and upset cuz they dont understand anything about towing. So they just buy the biggest, heaviest, most expensive TV they can find for false confidence. Any dumb dumb can walk into a dealership & walk out an hour later with the keys to an oversized unnecessary TV. I know this is fact cuz they still sell plenty of 250s & 2500 diesel crews that dont have the payload to supports its tow rating. If a guy understood payload and towing he would have gotten the 350 or 3500 crew diesel instead of the three quar, excuse me, oversized 1/2 ton diesel with less payload then most XL or XLT 150s.

Have either of you towed with a 2500 diesel before? Just curious.

Stating that the f250 and 150 share a cab and doors to try and defend your setup... come on... that's the literal only similarity when it comes to its composition. No talk about a purpose built frame, suspension, axles? My truck is overkill for the boat. But I like knowing that I'm safe pulling it far distances through texas hill country on my road trips down south, and not feeling the tail wag the dog.

If you really feel that's safe, more power to you. But don't condone others following your footsteps. Especially the dude pulling a 12k pound 5th wheel. Yoiks

No, im just wildly spewing garbage.
Ive towed big trailers with all kinds of trucks mainly farm equipment and hay on a 40ft goose flat with anything from a Sierra 2500 to a Ram 3500 dually when we owned 1,000 aces for 20 years.

Nobody is telling anyone yeah, tow 12Klbs with your F-150.
And no one has said a SD cant tow a trailer better then a F-150.

Ford says your 250-350 can tow whatever your configuration is rated for, and for some reason theres a narrative that the same doesnt hold true for a F-150 is crap.

What's better, a Honda civic or a Toyota corolla? lol

Seriously, I think it's just a matter of taste and needs.

You tow a lot? Go with the 5.0. You like the sound of a V8 because you think it's manly? go with the 5.0.
You don't tow a lot and like a quieter engine that's more fuel efficient? Go with the EB. You like the turbo whistle? Go with the EB.

There's a lot of reaching going on here. Take it from someone that spent years working as an engineer for a trailer company... while the F-150 may be an appropriate tow vehicle on paper, that doesn't make it the best or safest choice. Having personally switched from an F-150 to an F-250 and had the opportunity to pull the same loaded trailers with both, I can safely say that anyone who thinks the F-150 is anywhere near the same capability as the super duty is in denial. The super duty has exponentially more power, more stability, and a generally smoother ride when loaded. Does that mean you're automatically doomed if you routinely pull a heavy trailer with a half ton, or that you need to buy a dually to pull a fishing boat? Of course not. That doesn't change the fact that you're safer with the super duty. At the end of the day, people are going to buy what they want within their budget and justify it however they see fit. At least be honest about capability. I didn't buy my super duty to be macho or compensate for a micro *****. I bought it because I wanted the size, power, and stability that the half ton didn't offer. Regardless of what the equation looked like on paper I didn't like the way the half ton felt with a real load behind it and the super duty was a massive improvement. I'm sure plenty of super duty owners felt the same way.

What the F150 is rated to tow, vs what it's actually rated for after all options, packages, & weight in the truck is a different story. Look at this chart OP & find your truck's configuration & what the ACTUAL max tow capacity is for it. I'll bet it's NOT what the MAX spec is like the 5.0 is rated to tow. That rating is MAX for a specific configuration, thus they can claim the F150 5.0 can tow xxxxx lbs "When properly equipped". I'm willing to bet you're actually towing MORE or right at the what that chart says is MAX for your configuration of F150. Hope this helps..
