Default EB Winch options

Anyone have any experience with a winch mount that’s compatible with an ‘18 EB? I’m considering the Warn trans4mer but can’t find many pictures of it installed.

You're mounting stuff in front of the intercooler, so expect heat-soak issues there. I'm fighting them myself. You should consider adding an aftermarket IC (ideally the Full Race version up in the grille, otherwise at least an upgraded unit in the stock location) as part of your install.

I personally wouldn't put anything in front of the intercooler mouth on the bumper.

I'm actually having trouble choosing a bull bar for this exact reason.

I’m aware that blocking the Intercooler is a bad idea. I don’t plan on doing it. I’m asking if anyone has any knowledge of COMPATIBLE winch mounts. If there are none in existence, so be it.

There are "compatible" winch mounts. All of them will, to some extent or another, block parts of the intercooler (unless you sit it really high in the grille, in which case you're blocking the radiator/condensor... same issue). So if you want a winch, be prepared to either accept the consequences or consider other intercooler options.

I've seen several guys posting in the offroad forum with EB engines and after market bumpers with winch mounts, and none reported any problems. I also emailed a couple vendors and they all state it is compatible with the EB engines and has holes for airflow. Also, don't the shutters close when cruising down the highway on these, or are they only on the radiator area?

Here's one I was looking at, and they claim no issues with airflow being blocked to the intercooler. I say you get it in writing (email like I have), and if it causes a claim, they should be responsible.
Email from them on a bumper with winch mount in it (Premium bumper):
Hey Rob,
We have never had any issues with that bumper and the intercooler; our logo and additional slots are laser cut out underneath so that plenty of airflow gets to the intercooler.

Westin has one that says will partially block airflow to the intercooler.

Stage 3 Motorsports also has tseveral available and I selected a 2.7 liter Ecoboost engine. If they allow you to select it, they know it has an intercooler and no mention of relocating it.

I have the Fab Fours full front end replacement. I can assure you that it can cause issues if you're demanding maximum performance from your vehicle for extended periods. If I'm running a call where I'm heavy into the throttle, I will fairly quickly hit heat soak on the intercooler and the computer will start pulling boost and timing.

The average person may not even notice it - just depends on your driving style. But if you enjoy using your boost to the fullest, you can expect reduced cooling.

If you to keep the best IC cooling while running a winch, you are going to have to move to an aftermarket IC mounted up high in front of the radiator
